Practice case

Area 5 · Separation and ending

Read the scenario, then work each section as you would on the exam. When you check a section you see every option's weight and reasoning. A mock exam shows nothing until the end.

Scenario

GillesCommunity counselling agency, Timmins

You are a Registered Psychotherapist at a bilingual agency in Timmins, working in French with Gilles Bérubé, 61, whose son Mathieu died of an opioid overdose. After fourteen months of work, you have agreed together to end next week.

He says, 'I've been dreading next week. Could we keep going, once a month?' He smiles. 'And afterwards, come ice fishing with me and my wife Denise. You've earned it.'

A clinical simulation in the format of the CRPO Registration Examination: 6 sections, 2 Information Gathering and 4 Decision Making, about 15 minutes. Each section unfolds what happens next; every selection is final, and every option is weighted from +3 to -3, as on the exam.
