CRPO Exam Lab
Disclaimers

What this platform is, what it is not, and how far to rely on it. Read it once before you rely on your results here.
Independent practice material
The CRPO Exam Lab is an independent preparation platform for the CRPO Registration Examination. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or reviewed by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) or by COMPASS Centre for Examination Development, which builds the examination.
The content of the real examination is confidential, and none of it is used here. Every simulation, card and module is original work written for this platform, to CRPO's published Competency Profile for Registered Psychotherapists and the examination blueprint CRPO sets out for candidates. Nothing is reproduced from CRPO or COMPASS examination materials, the Entry-to-Practice Registration Examination Resource Manual or the Competency-Based Case Study Workbook. The practice cases copy the examination's format, not its items.
Our scores are our own estimates
The weight on every option, the benchmark, mastery and readiness are this platform's own estimates. They are not CRPO's scoring and they do not predict a pass or a fail.
- Weights (plus three to minus three) are our authors' judgement of each option, made against CRPO's published standards and competency profile. They are not the weights of any real examination item.
- The benchmark is our working target: 60 percent of the attainable positive score in a section, applied separately to Information Gathering (what you would find out) and Decision Making (what you would do). CRPO does not publish its cut scores, so this is not its pass mark.
- Mastery and readiness are worked out from what you have done here, spread over days, against the blueprint and our benchmark. They are never ranked against anyone else. They show where your preparation stands and what to work on next.
Use a result as a training signal about the shape of your performance, above all the balance between Information Gathering and Decision Making, and not as a forecast of your examination result.
Legal and regulatory content is not legal advice
The lab teaches the law and the practice standards for exam preparation. It reflects the sources it cites as they stood when they were checked, with the date shown where a point was verified, and it marks any point not yet verified against its primary source. Laws, regulations and CRPO's standards change. It is not legal advice. Before you rely on a point in practice, check the current law and CRPO's own publications at crpo.ca (opens in a new tab), and ask a lawyer or CRPO where your situation needs it.
Not clinical supervision or clinical advice
The simulations are teaching instruments, not advice about any real client. Working through them is not clinical supervision and does not replace it. Bring questions about your own clients to your clinical supervisor or a qualified colleague, and follow CRPO's standards and the law that applies.
If you, or someone you are with, needs help right now: call or text 9-8-8, the Suicide Crisis Helpline, any hour, in English or French. Call 911 if someone is in immediate physical danger. More numbers are on the Canada Therapy and Wellness contact page.
Content keeps improving
The lab’s content is reviewed and updated regularly, and it may still contain errors. If something looks wrong, use the Send feedback button at the right of the lab's section bar (an icon on a phone), or Report a problem under a card's explanation, a case's review or a diagram step, and say what you noticed. That is how errors get fixed.
Keep the real examination confidential
Do not share anything from the actual CRPO examination here, including in feedback: no questions, scenarios, options, wording or recollections of them. CRPO and COMPASS keep all examination materials strictly confidential, and before sitting the examination every candidate agrees not to disclose, reproduce (including from memory) or publish any of its content, from its topics and scenarios to its options and responses. If you have sat it, describe a problem with this platform in your own terms. Please do not include any client's information either.
Payments, cancelling and refunds
Payments are handled by Stripe; the site never sees your card. You can cancel any time from your Account, Subscription and billing: you keep access until the end of the period you paid for and are not charged again. During a free period nothing is charged before the date shown; cancel before then and you pay nothing. Payments are not refunded for a change of mind or for time not used. A charge made in error is refunded. This does not limit any right you have under consumer protection law. For any billing question, write to [email protected].
Your account and your data
The study library, one full practice case and the 10-minute diagnostic are open to everyone, without an account. The rest of the lab (the other practice cases, the study plan, the sessions and the mock exams) needs an account and a subscription. Signing in, with Google or an email code, keeps your study data in your account, stored with Supabase in Canada (Montreal), so it follows you to any device. Signing in creates one account for the Canada Therapy and Wellness site. Your account and its data are used to run the lab for you and to keep improving it, and are never sold or shared with advertisers. From your Account, Settings page you can download all of it or delete it.
The details, including what feedback collects and how to ask for deletion, are in Feedback and privacy. The Canada Therapy and Wellness privacy policy covers the practice as a whole.
