Scenario
KianaSolo private practice, Chapleau
You are a Registered Psychotherapist in solo private practice in Chapleau. Kiana Nadjiwon, 21, who is Anishinaabe, moved here from her First Nation last fall for a hospital housekeeping job. Her nurse practitioner referred her for panic attacks. She also checks her phone all night for messages from her brother, 16, who has stopped going to school.
'I almost didn't come,' she says. 'My aunt says talking to strangers won't fix this.'
