Practice case

Area 1 · Initial assessment

Read the scenario, then work each section as you would on the exam. When you check a section you see every option's weight and reasoning. A mock exam shows nothing until the end.

Scenario

FernandoFamily health team, St. Catharines

You are a Registered Psychotherapist on a family health team in St. Catharines. His physician refers Fernando, 79, widowed eighteen months and living alone, for low mood. Portuguese is his first language.

His daughter Luísa comes in with him. When you ask Fernando what has been happening, Luísa answers: 'He doesn't eat. He repeats himself. He left the stove on. Is it dementia?' Fernando looks at the floor: 'She worries.'
