Exam day, on one page
The format, the rules of the screen, the room, and what to do in the moment.
The format
- 10 simulations in 3 hours: about 18 minutes each.
- One simulation is an unscored pilot you cannot identify. Treat all ten the same.
- 5 to 8 sections per simulation: Information Gathering (always select as many) and Decision Making (select as many, or choose only one).
- Every option is weighted from +3 to -3. Information Gathering and Decision Making are passed separately.
The rules of the screen
- Mouse (not Bluetooth) or trackpad: click the square left of the option. Highlighted means selected.
- The response under an option is realism, not feedback: a warm reply can follow a -3.
- No undo. PREVIOUS lets you reread an earlier section, never change it.
- Never skip a section: a skipped section scores zero and cannot be answered later. Short on time, take the two or three options you are sure of and move on.
The week before
- MonitorEDU pre-exam check at least five days before, on the exam computer, with the internet check in the exam room. Test again on the day.
- Two valid government-issued IDs, at least one with a photo (two photo IDs is safest), in your registered name, plus your CRPO unique identification number.
- The day before, tell everyone you live with, in writing, that nobody may enter the room.
The room
- A private room with a door that closes. Nobody may enter while the exam is in progress.
- Desk and the space beneath clear: no pen, paper, notes or books; no watch or smartwatch; no headphones (foam or silicone earplugs are fine).
- No other data device and no Bluetooth device: keyboard, monitor, mouse, headphones.
- Food and water in clear containers. Notes go in the electronic notepad only, and nothing is read aloud.
On the day
- Log in by your MonitorEDU link 15 minutes early (over 15 late forfeits the seat). Stay in the queue: the three hours start at launch.
- Breaks of up to five minutes: tell the proctor first. The clock keeps running.
- Anything goes wrong: tell the proctor, note it in the end survey, email [email protected] within CRPO's window.
- After a click you regret: one breath, eyes off the screen, read the next stem twice. One click never decides the exam.
Before and after
- Illness, injury or a death in the family just before the exam: email [email protected] as soon as possible.
- Questions: [email protected]. Tech: MonitorEDU live chat. Booking: [email protected].
- Results by email, weeks later: a one-page PDF score report from COMPASS and a results notice from CRPO.
Confirm every detail in your instructions and in the Resource Manual on CRPO's exam page.
