CRPO exam dates 2027: the spring sitting, deadlines and a planning timeline

The CRPO Registration Examination is offered twice a year, in spring and fall. CRPO lists the spring 2027 sitting as 5, 6, 7 and 8 April 2027, subject to change, after the fall 2026 sitting of 26 to 29 October 2026. The deadlines that decide whether you can write in April fall at the end of January 2027, so plan from there. This guide sets out the dates CRPO publishes, the usual timeline before a spring sitting, and how to fit eight weeks of preparation around it. The sittings CRPO has published

Each candidate writes on one of the sitting days and has three hours. The exam is online and remotely proctored, in English or French. The fee is CAD 545 plus HST, set by and paid to COMPASS, and the full fee applies to every attempt.

The timeline before a spring sitting

CRPO describes these steps and their usual timing. The exact dates for each sitting are in CRPO's emails to Qualifying registrants.

For a sitting on 5 to 8 April 2027, six to eight weeks puts results at roughly mid-May to early June 2027.

To be eligible for a sitting you must also have become a registered member of CRPO on or before the cut-off date in that sitting's exam news.

Deadlines that follow you

• First attempt: no later than 24 months after your certificate of registration as an RP (Qualifying) was issued.
• Attempts: you must pass in no more than three. A third attempt comes only after any upgrading the Examination Committee requires, and no later than five years after your Qualifying certificate was issued, unless the committee allows more time in exceptional circumstances.
• Full registration: you have five years from your Qualifying certificate to meet every requirement for RP, including 450 hours of direct client contact and 100 clinical supervision hours.

When to start studying for April 2027

Working back from 5 April 2027, an eight-week plan starts in the week of 8 February 2027. That leaves the end of January for the paperwork above and gives you a full week at the end for rest and a last timed simulation.
